In June of 2021, David and Tomas realized they shared a common bucket list item: to participate in the Baja 1000, the longest, single-stage off-road race in the world. Both motivated by the recent losses of people near and dear to them, they decided it was time to fulfill that bucket list item. A week after agreeing to give it a shot, David had located a class 5/1600 baja bug for sale in Arizona, which had been racing with various owners for decades, including prior runs in the Baja. David and his wife drove out to bring the bug home to Houston, where it was soon joined by a new RZR support vehicle and a crew of family and friends who agreed to join the team and go on this great adventure with us.
